Is Rapidshare back on for good?
Users on the Broadband provider BT may have experienced that Rapidshare wasn’t loading at all, however the secure version did, speculation started that BT blocked rapidshare since it was working on other ISP’s such as NTL and Blueyonder. It appears rapidshare (.com, not .de =/) seems to be back working.

I am with BT, rapidshare has not worked for days, and I have a premium account. Managed to dl one file yesterday, but it is down again now. I have changed from dynamic to static IP and no change. I think it is being blocked.

Yeah it seems to work in the morning, i think they got a time-block on it, to stop the heavy bandwidth :/.

Is there anyway we can get round this… or just bin the account. No point in having a.m. access for me, at work all day, and I don’t want to fart about having to set up downloads for overnight.. it’s more a spur of the moment thing…

Hi
Yeah, I’m blocked out too. BT suggested I ping rapidshare.com – and the ping works – but can’t get anything on the browser – not even the rapidshare main page.
Maybe it’s rapidshare blocking us??

Same here, just tried again this morning, browser not linking, opera or IE7, and flashget doesnt get a connection either.

Me too!
Having emailed BT to directly ask about blocking and packetshaping on Rapidshare.com, I recieved an email from BT “Support” offering no explanation or real “support” style resolve!!
They have only served to take the **** further by ignoring my question about denying access to TRapidshare and intimating user error!!
Given their business model, and the whole web2.0 customer revolution (see Dell and Sony share prices BT shareholders!!)
I would suggest they watch thier arses.
There again it may just be time to pull the plug.

I have tried pinging the IP number rapidshare support sent me and I get host unreachable. So I assume that BT are directly blocking the site. Have just sent them an email asking that question and if they are or I get no satisfactory answer, then I will close my account and get another ISP. I have had nothing but grief with BT since I transferred from the 2Mb account to Total Broadband. It seems pretty obvious they are blocking the site, so what is the point of having a 40 gig cap, when they are deciding which sites you can download from as well. If they play the arse about cancelling my account, I will just download 10 gig a day from Claranews until they terminate my account. Much easier than trying to get it cancelled early.

I’m with BT also and this problem is still persisting, I hate these people and wish cancer on them all.

Bastards. Total bastards. They are deliberately blocking access to rapidshare to save them money on bandwidth.
Last week you could access the site by putting adding www. to the links, but now not even that works.
This is totally ridiculous.

I find that making it https works sometimes. I will be phoning bt, asking them to stop blocking my access, or I will revoke my contract (even though I still have like 18 months left on), could go to small claims court that doesn’t work.

Funny that BT let me on for just enougth time to buy a premium account for one year but whats the point of putting work files their if workers cannot get them. perhaps bt will give me my money back.
